Pankaj Raj Sinha graduated from department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in May 2002. He also has a B.E (ME) in 1998 from the Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. Thesis title: A Methodology to Mitigate Suppliers Risks in the Aerospace Supply Chain . (May 2002) AbstractAn optimized supply chain is a source of competitive advantage. Supply chain design is frequently performed with a view of a single supply chain. However, as a supplier provides value to different supply chains, it becomes increasingly difficult to optimize each supply chain the supplier partners with. Each supply chain has different requirements, procedures, and formats. A single member of the team may have requirements placed upon them by a single supply chain that contradicts those of another supply chain. The competitiveness of a supplier depends on the ability to respond to different supply chains. This, in turn, affects the competitiveness of each overall supply chain as well. The objective of this research is to develop a generic prescriptive methodology for mitigating risks in the aerospace supply chain. The methodology will provide a mechanism for various suppliers and original equipment manufacturers to minimize conflicting objectives in the aerospace industry.
